My ironic experience of pre-ordering BOTW

I probably should have made this journal around the time I got it, but eh.

Basically over a week before it was due to be released, I pre-ordered the Wii U version (I was in no financial position to get a Switch at the time) The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (which is great, of course, though the durability of weapons can be a bit annoying).
A couple of days before the release date, I got an email saying basically due to supply and demand issues, I "might" not get it on the day it comes out.
Sure enough, it was only dispatched on the official release date and had to wait through a whole weekend just to get that copy.
But in the meantime, I ended up buying another copy from a store, which also had the Link Archer amiibo, but with the intention of selling the one I was getting later.
Thankfully, I ended up selling the original one to my brother, who was also after the Wii U version. So in the end, it didn't end up as a total loss, especially with the pure chance of getting a BOTW amiibo, before they then became items for scalpers again.

But, wow. You'd think the whole idea of pre-ordering something, is to get it on the day it comes out (or in some cases, before it's official release date), which at times can be risky, since you don't have much of a clue of whether it'll be good or not. But, I had no idea pre-ordering something could actually lead to an experience like that. XD

Yeah, pre-ordering can be a risky business.

Reminds me of when I pre-ordered FFXIII Lightning returns; the game did arrive on time but the metal case didn't till a few days later for some reason. so I ended up getting one product over two deliveries...

If anything you'd expect the opposite.

Ah, well. fingers crossed that pre-ordering FFXIV:Stormblood doesn't come back to bite me.

P.S. Good to hear you got an amiibo out of this, enjoy the game!
